Anza Borrego Winter Camping
Coming back from 4XFAR (read about that here) we were driving through Anza Borrego Desert State Park (California’s larges state park) and figure instead of wasting the gas and a two-hour trip we would break it up and get a camp in.

Last weekend’s 4XFAR fest was epic! One part music fest one part outdoor adventure show and one park Land Rover new and old made for an amazing trip in to the Coachella Valley.
Dusy Ershim Pt 2
Day two of the Dusy Ershim trail was a dusy for me, take in the usual process of waking up after a day of four wheeling and add in being sick. I still had a ragging sinus infection and was kind of like a zombie, after getting out of my hammock I didn’t even eat I just pathetically struck camp. I really didn’t even realize how cold it was even with the frost on everything it was like I was in auto pilot.

After wrapping up our adventures in auto repair (you really need to read the Rubicon story if you have not) we headed south down the mighty highway 99. It was interesting to be back on the highway crusing down central California to our next stop. Today’s portion of the trip had us going to Shaver Lake a popular spot with my friends where the vacation often.
Rubicon Trail Pt 2
The upside of turning around was that Bob’s Jeep was still drivable and we could manage an egress the way we came. The weather really changed on a dime and we went from cloudy to rainy to probably a half inch of snow and going in about two hours.

September had us out on one big adventure with a trip into Northern California to tackle two major off road trails, the Rubicon and the Dusy Ershim.

After having said our good byes and a lot of the participants having headed down the hill I saddled up my day pack stashed my gear and stepped out from Barcroft Station.

I woke up in the dorm and packed up my stuff I was still waking up and it was time for some well needed caffeine, the chow hall there was awesome and they made some great food.

It has been a busy couple weeks so I am just now getting around to typing up my August 22ndtrip up the Owens Valley and to many of my favorite places for a fast extended weekend trip. After all one of our original mottos was “For professionals who adventure”,

We took a little trip out to see the pictographs at Little Blair Valley, a bit ago and where treated to an amazing overnighter in Anza Borrego State Park.
